You might have some questions about our programs. well, you’ve come to the right place!

Do I need musical experience to attend Amplified Victoria camp?

The beauty of Amplified Victoria is that you don't need any musical experience to participate. We provide instrument instruction tailored to your level of experience- whether you've got several years of playing, or none at all!

Do I need my own instrument?

Nope! Amplified Victoria provides guitars, basses, drum kits, and keyboards for campers. If you do have an instrument you wish to bring, that’s cool too! Just let us know on the camp registration form.

Is financial aid available?

Yep! Amplified Victoria believes that music should be for everyone, so we offer financial aid at all of our events for young people. You can usually choose from full-fee, half-fee, or zero fee places.

I live in regional Victoria, can I attend your events?

Sure! If you and your parents/guardians can work out a safe way for you to travel to and from our events, we’d love to have you!

I’m trans- can I attend?

Yes. Amplified Victoria is open to any female-identified, trans-masculine, trans-feminine, and gender non-conforming youth aged 10-17 who is interested in playing music.

Is Amplified Victoria camp a sleep-away camp?

No, Amplified Victoria school holidays day camp runs from 9:30am-4:30pm, Monday through Friday, with early drop-off and late pick-up available. The camp-end Showcase gig is on the weekend.

What will I do each day at Amplified Victoria’s school holidays camp?

 During the week, you’ll:

  • form a band with other campers in your age bracket—of course this includes coming up with your own band name!

  • learn an instrument (bass, guitar, vocals, drums or synth)

  • participate in creative workshops and activities, such as song writing, zine-making, designing and screen-printing your own band’s t-shirt, and learning tips and tricks for performing live

  • watch live music performances by awesome bands and musicians over lunch each day

  • collaborate with your band and mentor/s to write an original song

  • perform your original song live to an audience at a camp-end showcase, to be held at one of Melbourne’s legendary music venues

  • make mistakes, ask questions, be silly, have fun, build friendships and learn heaps!

What should I bring to camp?

  • Your lunch each day (no peanuts please). Snacks will be available throughout the day.

  • Pen and paper for note-taking

  • Comfy clothes and sneakers for days with active workshops

  • Water bottle with your name on it

  • Plain, light coloured t-shirt for screen printing of band shirt (required on Thursday)

  • Medication and anaphylaxis/asthma action plan if required

How do I get to Wick Studios (where the day camps are held)?

Wick Studios is located at 23-25 Leslie St, Brunswick, VIC 3056. Please note that parking is extremely limited, so we recommend using public transport whenever possible. The closest train station is Brunswick (Upfield line), which is a 3 min walk to Wick Studios. The number 19 tram (stop 23 Sydney Rd/Victoria St) is a 5 min walk to Wick Studios.
